Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist position works in a Finance Department comprised of three employees including a Finance Manager and another Accounting Specialist The Accounting Specialist reports directly to the Finance Manager. Furthermore, the Accounting Specialist's primary duties include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for the City of Randleman. In addition, this position is expected to provide customer service and assist with the collection of utility payments. The City of Randleman has approximately 60 full-time employees and an Annual Operating Budget of over $12 million. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field is not required, but strongly preferred. Prior experience related to accounts payable and payroll is recommended along with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to learn and develop within a growing and collaborative municipal organization. The Accounting Specialist position is full-time, 100% in-office without a remote or hybrid option, and operates Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. The Accounting Specialist is considered non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The salary range for this position is $61,239.11-$91,858.69. The anticipated hiring rate for this position is $61,239.11-$65,000.00. The City of Randleman is a member of the North Carolina Local Government Retirement System and contributes 5% of the base salary to a 401(k) program for all full-time employees.
