Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounts Payable Specialist and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and compliance standards will help uphold our commitment to fiscal integrity and operational excellence. Duties Process and verify all incoming invoices using accounting software such as SAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies related to accounts payable transactions. Enter data accurately into financial systems, including Debits & Credits, journal entries, and general ledger updates. Manage vendor relationships by responding to inquiries, resolving billing issues, and maintaining up-to-date vendor records. Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards during all financial activities. Assist with month-end closing procedures, including accruals and analysis of accounts payable data. Support compliance with internal policies related to benefits administration, tax regulations, and governmental accounting requirements. Regularly monitor the GRNV report and follow up with vendors to ensure invoices are received and properly matched against goods received Check mailing- prepare, mail and record all outgoing checks to ensure timely payments and accurate documentation Qualifications Proven experience with accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Ceridian is a plus. Knowledge of SOX compliance standards and non-profit or governmental accounting practices is desirable. Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail in data entry and bookkeeping tasks. Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
