Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Hackensack, New Jersey. In this Contract to permanent position, you will support accounts payable operations while also assisting with basic IT and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and eager to expand their expertise in both finance and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable transactions, including coding invoices and ensuring accurate account allocations.
- Manage payment methods such as Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers and check runs.
- Provide administrative support for IT-related tasks, such as shipping and receiving electronic equipment for employees.
- Assist with updating company records and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Support the in-house IT team with basic technical tasks, such as program installations and creating instructional guides.
- Handle administrative duties related to onboarding and offboarding employees, including IT equipment setup and retrieval.
- Collaborate with the IT department to troubleshoot minor technical issues and improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all accounts payable activities. Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related role.
- Proficiency in processing accounts payable transactions, including invoice coding and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with payment methods such as ACH transfers and check processing.
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn basic IT tasks.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments.
- Basic proficiency in creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
- Ability to adapt and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
