Controller About Us We are a growing fire protection and life safety company providing inspection, service, and installation work across commercial clients. As our operations expand, we are looking to strengthen our accounting team with a detail-oriented professional who can support day-to-day financial processes. Position Overview The Accounting Assistant will support the Controller with core accounting and administrative functions. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who is organized, detail-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple moving parts. You will be involved in accounts payable, purchasing support, payroll data entry, and accounts receivable, helping ensure accurate and timely financial operations. This role is designed to evolve with the company, and responsibilities may expand based on business needs and the individual's capabilities. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP) Enter and process vendor invoices Match invoices to purchase orders Assist with vendor communication and payment tracking Purchase Orders & Vendor Coordination Create and enter purchase orders Source materials and identify cost-effective vendors Track pricing and maintain vendor records Accounts Receivable (AR) Assist with invoice entry and billing support Track collections and follow up on outstanding balances Payroll Support Enter and review payroll data (hours, etc.) Assist with maintaining accurate payroll records Change Requests / Administrative Support Enter and track change requests Maintain organized documentation and records General Accounting Maintain organized financial records and files Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the accounting and operational functions of the business Assist with month-end close processes Support reporting as needed by the Controller Qualifications 1-3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) Strong Excel skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Preferred (Not Required) Experience in construction or service-based industries Familiarity with purchase order processes Experience with service platforms (e.g., ServiceTrade or similar) Bachelor's degree in accounting
Compensation Base Salary Range:
$45,000
