Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist General Hydronics Plumbing, LLC. - Alamogordo, New Mexico General Hydronics Plumbing is a respected third-generation, family-owned company proudly serving Southern New Mexico since 1984. () We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the company's financial operations by ensuring accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, customer billing, collections, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, and takes pride in maintaining accuracy and professionalism in all financial transactions. Key Responsibilities Process and verify vendor invoices, purchase orders, subcontractor pay applications, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner. Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including payment processing, vendor statement reconciliation, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Generate customer invoices, monitor receivables, track payments, and assist with collections to maintain healthy cash flow. Perform regular account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally. Maintain accurate financial records through data entry, journal entries, and bookkeeping best practices. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, reporting, and account analysis. Communicate with project managers, field staff, vendors, subcontractors, and customers regarding billing or payment issues. Support compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal financial controls. Assist with lien waivers, subcontractor documentation, and other construction accounting administrative tasks as needed. Maintain confidentiality of company financial information and records. Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or construction accounting preferred. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Foundations, or similar accounting platforms. Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, debits/credits, and financial reporting. Construction industry experience is highly preferred. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with strong data entry accuracy. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication and customer service skills with professional phone and email etiquette. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-paced office setting. Experience with subcontractor compliance, certified payroll, or construction billing is a plus.
