Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team. In this vital role, you will manage the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Your expertise will support our commitment to maintaining strong financial health, compliance with accounting standards, and seamless financial operations. Duties Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, CRM, and other dealer platforms. Manage accounts receivable by generating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure steady cash flow. Handle accounts payable by reviewing vendor statements, reconciling discrepancies, and preparing payments in compliance with company policies. Perform account reconciliation tasks including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records. Conduct data entry with precision using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping methods to ensure accuracy in all transactions. Assist with month-end closing activities such as journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to support financial reporting. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory standards for corporate and governmental accounting. Support payroll management processes systems while ensuring correct tax calculations and deductions. Contribute to internal audits by preparing documentation related to accounts payable/receivable activities and supporting audit requests. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, credit analysis, and financial data analysis to improve overall financial operations. Experience Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable functions within a corporate or governmental setting. Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or Ceridian is a plus. Familiarity with financial concepts including journal entries, debits & credits, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management. Experience working within GAAP standards; familiarity with SOX compliance is highly desirable. Background in public accounting or non-profit accounting environments is advantageous. Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy and double-entry bookkeeping techniques. Knowledge of payroll systems for payroll management tasks. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and support budgeting processes. Excellent math skills coupled with a keen attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is essential.
