Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented part-time (20 hour a week) Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a growing organization in Geneva, New York. This contract-to-hire opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing reconciliations, maintaining accurate records, and working confidently in QuickBooks. The right candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a careful approach to financial data, and the ability to help keep accounting processes running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records by entering and reviewing daily bookkeeping transactions in QuickBooks.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card activity to ensure balances are correct and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Support accounts receivable tasks, including tracking incoming payments and following up on outstanding balances as needed.
- Verify insurance-related information and document details accurately to support billing and payment processes.
- Review financial entries for completeness and consistency, helping to keep accounting data organized and audit-ready.
- Assist with routine reporting by preparing summaries of account activity and highlighting issues that require attention.
- Investigate and correct transaction variances by coordinating with internal contacts and reviewing supporting documentation. Requirements
- Experience performing bookkeeping duties in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working within accounting software systems.
- Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and credit card account balancing.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes and payment tracking.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting issues and following up on discrepancies.
