Accounts Payable Specialist

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the commercial and industrial construction industry. This role is responsible for managing invoice processing, vendor inquiries, and supporting overall accounting operations. The ideal candidate has strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred. Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices
• Match invoices with subcontracts in Sage software
• Electronic filing
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors regarding billing inquiries
• Assist with sales tax/IDA reporting
• Maintain organized accounting files and documentation
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Support the accounting team with additional tasks as needed Qualifications
• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• 1-3 years of accounts payable experience preferred
• Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred
• Sales Tax/IDA reporting experience preferred but not required
• Experience with Sage 100 contractor accounting software preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
