Job Description

This full-time accounting and bookeeping position is with Family of Woodstock, a 55+ year no-profits with a mission is to provide confidential and fully accessible crisis intervention, prevention, and support services to address the broad spectrum of basic needs that individuals and families in our community face. Our accounting and bookeeping team are essential to maintaining accurate financial data and keeping the agency solvent as they manage more than 70 funding sources. This position will be critical in maintaining the accounting books for our accounts receivables including but not limited to reimbursement for emergency housing placements. Primary Responsibilities
  • Advanced accounting and bookeeping responsibilities for accounts payable and other financial areas.
  • Maintain program account financial ledgers.
  • Prepare accounting Invoices/Vouchers for billing funding sources.
  • Reconciliation of motel billings to tracking system and payments to ensure accuracy before billing funding agency.
  • Monthly distribution of ledgers to Team Leads and Management for review with narratives of performance.
  • Quarterly review with Team Leads and CFO
  • Maintain files for all assigned programs.
  • Reconcile special savings accounts pertaining to the assigned ledgers.
  • Backup support of Account Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.
  • Collaborate with the accounting/finance staff in planning activities within the department as well as with program staff and external organizations as requested by CFO or Team Leader of Accounting and Finance.
  • Additional primary and/or non-essential responsibilities may be added at the discretion of the Team Leader.
  • Applicant should be a collaborative and positive team member.
  • Must be dependable and well organized, energetic, and have the ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail. Qualifications
  • AAS Preferred or at least 3 years' experience in accounting or financial work.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for accounting and bookeeping purposes in a professional setting..
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
