Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support trust and client account activity in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage receivables with precision, maintain accurate financial records, and uphold strict compliance standards. The role works closely with finance and business partners to ensure payments, reconciliations, and account follow-up are completed accurately and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming payments, deposits, and transfers across trust and operating accounts while ensuring accurate posting.
- Review and reconcile client and trust account activity to maintain compliance with internal controls and applicable guidelines.
- Prepare invoices and account statements, apply cash receipts, and track open balances to support timely collections.
- Investigate payment discrepancies and resolve account issues by coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain organized transaction records and supporting documentation to strengthen audit readiness and reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial support materials.
- Partner with billing, finance, and operations teams to promote accurate bookkeeping and dependable account reporting. Requirements
- Experience in accounts receivable, including billing, cash application, and payment posting.
- Working knowledge of collections processes and account follow-up in a detail-oriented business environment.
- Familiarity with trust accounting or client fund transactions in a regulated setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting and billing systems, along with strong accuracy in data entry and record maintenance.
- Solid reconciliation skills with the ability to identify and resolve variances efficiently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and coordinate with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance.
