Accounting Specialist

Job descriptionAmericas Floor Source, one of the nations largest flooring companies, is seeking a full-time accounts payable specialist at our Columbus headquarters. This individual will be responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable.

Responsibilities:

Review, sort and match invoices and check requestsSet up invoices for paymentProcess check requestsPrepare and processing accounts payable checksReconciliation of paymentsPrepare analysis of accountsMonitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-dateVerify discrepancies and resolve billing issuesFile maintenanceCorrespond with vendors and responding to inquiriesProduce monthly reportsAssist in month-end closingPerform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables' dataGenerate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status

Requirements:

Proven working experience in accounts payable, preferably in a high volume environmentStrong understanding of the 3-way matching process Experience processing inventory related payables and resolving invoice discrepancies with purchasing and receiving departmentsSolid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principlesProficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office suite and internet researchCustomer service orientationData entry skills along with a knack for numbersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExceptional time management and organizational skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to multi-task and manage multiple prioritiesSound decision-making and problem solving skillsSelf-motivated and accountableFull benefits package available after 90 days of FT employment. 401k plan available after 6 months of employment with employer match.
