Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting and financial operations across Ohio Addiction Recovery Center (OARC), a 40-bed residential SUD treatment facility, and The Ohio Mental Health Center at The Trails, our mental health residential program. As Bookkeeper, you will oversee all aspects of financial recordkeeping, billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and regulatory compliance for both behavioral health facilities. This is a critical role supporting sound financial management in our mission to provide quality treatment and recovery services. Key Responsibilities Manage the complete bookkeeping cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations for both facilities Prepare monthly financial statements and reconciliation reports; analyze variances and provide financial summaries to management Coordinate with medical billing operations on patient accounts Process payroll, benefits administration, and tax filings; maintain payroll compliance for 90 employees across both locations Coordinate with external accountants and auditors; prepare documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews Manage accounting software systems and databases; ensure accurate data entry and system integrity Identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities; implement internal controls to strengthen financial operations Required Qualifications 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, ideally in healthcare or behavioral health settings Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks); Excel expertise required Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Demonstrated ability to work independently and serve as a trusted financial advisor to leadership Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Certification (CPA, CPA-PRO, or bookkeeping certification) Prior experience with multi-facility operations and consolidated financial reporting Experience with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA compliance in healthcare settings Essential Competencies Financial acumen and analytical thinking Organization and time management Communication and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams Problem-solving and process improvement mindset Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays Professional development and training opportunities Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the behavioral health field Physical Demands & Work Environment This position requires sitting for extended periods and working at a computer. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
