Full Job Description Position Justification:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is a current and necessary position which handles various functions for a manufacturing facility. This position monitors the vendor accounts and manages the timely collection and posting of customer invoices along with the preparation of weekly payments. The position also manages vendor communications regarding open account balances and reconciliations. Along with management and ownership of the accounts payable function, this position supports the facilities Controller supporting both internal and external reporting requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enter daily vendor invoices. Prepare weekly vendor payments for the facility. Aid in the weekly preparation of the upcoming weeks cash planning. Periodically reconcile vendor account balances. Own the payables process. Prepare and issue annual 1099 and other statutory reporting requirements Support annual audit testing of the procure to pay cycle. Ability to interact with procurement and facility staff Assist the facilities Controller as needed for research and reporting requirements. Essential for
Success :
High School GED (Required) / Associated Degree of greater (Preferred) 3+ years of experience in accounting/AP or similar position (Preferred) Experience in an ERP system (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.) Experience using Microsoft applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) (Required) Strong work ethic Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate both internally with the team and professionally externally with customers.
Physical Demands:
This position is a full-time on-site position. Normal daily functions require the ability to sit for periods of time working at a desk and being able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
This position can be on-site, an office-based job or remote with established work hours.
