40.0 Overview The Accounts Payable Specialist is a salaried, on-site role responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations through the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. This position works closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure efficient accounts payable workflows and strong financial controls. Responsibilities Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices; match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies Determine appropriate timing of payments to help manage cash flow while maintaining positive vendor relationships Prepare and process electronic payments, check runs, and credit card transactions, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor inquiries Analyze workflows and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency Process EDI transactions and monitor for accuracy and effectiveness Communicate purchasing, receiving, or costing errors to appropriate personnel Collaborate as a team member by providing coverage for other roles and assisting with onboarding or training Oversee work output of team members assisting with accounts payable tasks Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications Working knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret payable data Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Preferred Skills & Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset Positive, team-oriented attitude Focus on process improvement and operational efficiency System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
