OVERVIEW OF THE MEDICAL BILLING/AR SPECIALIST ROLE

Our client is seeking a Medical Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day billing operations and payment processing. This role is responsible for submitting claims, applying payments, and ensuring accuracy across patient accounts within a fast-paced medical office environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with medical billing experience who enjoys both transactional work and problem-solving within revenue cycle processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MEDICAL BILLING/AR SPECIALIST

Submit and process medical claims accurately and in a timely manner Apply patient and insurance payments to appropriate accounts The Medical Billing/AR Specialist will review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and billing discrepancies Follow up on outstanding balances and insurance claims Maintain accurate patient account records and documentation Communicate with insurance providers regarding claim status and issues Support AR aging review and collections efforts as needed Assist with general billing and revenue cycle tasks within the practice

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE MEDICAL BILLING/AR SPECIALIST ROLE

Prior experience in medical billing and/or accounts receivable required Experience working in a healthcare or physician office setting preferred Familiarity with insurance billing processes and claim submission Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and account management Ability to communicate professionally with patients and insurance representatives Experience with medical billing software preferred
