This is a hybrid position based out of our Des Moines, IA office.

What were looking for:

SHAZAM is looking for an Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable to support financial operations across ITS, Inc., SHAZAM, Inc., and ITS Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for processing disbursements, maintaining accurate accounts payable records, and assisting with sales tax reporting, account reconciliations, and journal entries. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

What you'll do: Review and evaluate invoices, assigning appropriate general ledger codes for accurate entry into the accounts payable systemProcess and prepare payments through the automated accounts payable systemMaintain and produce a monthly listing of open accounts payableEnsure compliance with internal accounts payable policies and proceduresAssist with preparation and timely filing of state sales and use tax returns; collaborate with vendors to ensure proper tax applicationMaintain accurate vendor records to support year-end 1099 reportingComplete assigned general ledger account reconciliations and journal entriesSupport the Accounting Manager with special projects and departmental initiatives while providing backup coverage for other accounting functions as neededWhat you need:3+ years of bookkeeping or accounts payable experience in a similar industry or environmentStrong understanding of fundamental accounting principlesFamiliarity with accounting systems and financial processes preferredExperience with Workday and advanced excel experience preferredExcellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skillsAbility to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentWhats in it for you:
