Job Title:
Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-Time, Hybrid) Job Description The Accounts Payable Specialist supports daily finance operations by accurately processing vendor invoices, performing three-way matching, and resolving discrepancies to ensure timely payments. This role collaborates closely with operations and internal departments to address pricing, documentation, and receiving issues while maintaining clean accounts payable aging and reporting. The position also assists with month-end activities and audit-related requests, maintaining organized accounts payable records in a multi-branch environment. Responsibilities Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and documentation. Perform three-way matching between purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices to validate accuracy. Voucher invoices promptly and work proactively to clean up past-due items in accounts payable. Reconcile accounts payable aging reports and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Communicate and collaborate with operations and internal departments to resolve invoice issues, pricing discrepancies, and missing documentation. Support month-end accounts payable activities, including reconciliations and reporting as needed. Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date accounts payable documentation and records in a multi-branch environment. Contribute to audit preparation by providing requested accounts payable documentation and supporting schedules. Support accurate financial reporting by ensuring accounts payable transactions comply with GAAP accounting principles. Assist with accounting activities related to manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting as needed. Essential Skills 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments. Hands-on accounts payable experience, including invoice processing and three-way matching. Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles. Experience using ERP or accounting systems for accounts payable processing. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with manufacturing accounting processes. Exposure to inventory accounting and cost accounting. Experience supporting audit preparation and documentation requests. Familiarity with financial reporting processes related to accounts payable. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with operations and cross-functional teams. Work Environment This is a part-time, temporary position with a hybrid work schedule, averaging 20-25 hours per week. The initial assignment is a minimum of six months, with potential for direct hire based on performance and organizational needs. The work arrangement typically includes approximately two days onsite and two days remote per week, providing a balance of in-office collaboration and focused remote work. The role operates in a professional office environment that leverages ERP or accounting systems and Microsoft Excel as core tools for daily tasks. The position supports a multi-branch operation, requiring consistent organization, clear communication, and reliable follow-through. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Burbank, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
