Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic Home Staging team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support our organization's financial health and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a collaborative environment that values precision, integrity, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry of journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance using various accounting software such as FreshBooks or similar platforms. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies promptly. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Prepare financial reports by analyzing account balances, performing balance sheet reconciliation, and summarizing financial data for management review. Maintain general ledger accounting records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards where applicable. Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance documentation to support organizational financial obligations. Conduct account analysis to identify trends or issues requiring attention and recommend corrective actions as needed. Support budgeting processes by providing accurate financial data and assisting with expense tracking. Ensure all bookkeeping activities adhere to internal controls and audit requirements for transparency and accuracy. Experience Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations. Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with Quicken is a plus. Solid understanding of GAAP principles, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation techniques. Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and tax regulations relevant to nonprofit or public sector entities. Knowledge of financial concepts, including debits & credits, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing. Experience in preparing financial reports and writing clear financial summaries for stakeholders. Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately for data entry tasks. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation tasks.
