Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Your expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts will help streamline processes, facilitate precise reporting, and uphold the integrity of our financial data. Duties Maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure data integrity. Perform bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to record transactions, generate reports, and streamline bookkeeping tasks. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to support accurate financial statements. Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and proper classification of expenses. Prepare detailed financial reports writing clear summaries for management review and decision-making purposes. Support Executive Director with budgeting activities by analyzing expenses and forecasting future financial needs. Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards and governmental accounting requirements. Handle tax and audit-related tasks with experience in tax and audit compliance as needed for non-profit entities. Experience with federal grant-compliant allocation methodologies; splitting bills and payroll into multiple programs according to policy. Assist ED in updating allocation policy on a quarterly basis Experience Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations. Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles, debits & credits, journal entries, and financial concepts. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and public accounting practices Demonstrated ability in bank reconciliation, account analysis, general ledger reconciliation, and financial report writing. Experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes along with payroll management is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
