Bookkeeper for Sub-Contractor Company

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our subcontractor company, supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate record-keeping. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare and record journal entries accurately within accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure financial data integrity Assist with payroll processing, including tax filings and compliance with relevant regulations Support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management review Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, including debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards where applicable Requirements Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within a subcontractor or construction-related environment Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar tools Knowledge of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting (if applicable), and public accounting practices Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is highly desirable Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, accounts payable/receivable, and financial report writing Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently using 10 key typing skills Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of bookkeeping and account management Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values precision, transparency, and continuous improvement.
