Job Description
Mental Health Collaborative (MHC) is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building resilient communities through mental health education and awareness. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Contract Bookkeeper to provide ongoing bookkeeping support approximately 3-5 hours per month. This flexible, remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional seeking supplemental income and a long-term client relationship. Responsibilities Record and categorize credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online Post payroll journal entries Reconcile bank and cash accounts monthly Assist with year-end 1099 preparation Support annual financial review and audit preparation Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Communicate regularly with the Vice President of Finance & Operations regarding outstanding items and monthly close activities Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks Online required Prior bookkeeping experience required Experience working with nonprofit organizations preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet monthly deadlines Understanding of basic accounting principles Experience with payroll journal entries and account reconciliations preferred Compensation Independent Contractor (1099) Fixed monthly fee: $500 Typical workload is approximately 3-5 hours per month, with occasional increases to 8-10 hours during year-end review/audit preparation and 1099 season.
