Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Full-Charge Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our growing healthcare organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing full month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, managing reconciliations, and supporting annual audits. The ideal candidate has strong QuickBooks experience, understands accrual accounting, can independently manage core bookkeeping and accounting functions, and is comfortable operating in a growing nonprofit and healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping functions within QuickBooks Perform full month-end and year-end close processes Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and all balance sheet accounts regularly Record and categorize financial transactions accurately and timely Prepare monthly financial statements, including: Balance Sheet Profit & Loss Statement Statement of Cash Flows Supporting financial schedules and reports Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accrual-based accounting records Manage prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, deferred revenue, and other adjusting entries Generate, review, and monitor accounts receivable aging reports Assist leadership with financial reporting, budget tracking, and cash flow monitoring Maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready financial documentation Serve as the primary financial records contact during annual audits by gathering requested documentation, preparing schedules, and supporting auditors throughout the audit process Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and vendor management Track grants, restricted funds, and program expenditures as applicable Assist in maintaining class, department, or location-based financial tracking Help ensure compliance with organizational policies, grant requirements, and accounting best practices Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required Strong proficiency in QuickBooks required Strong understanding of accrual accounting required Experience independently completing month-end close processes required Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and supporting schedules Experience generating and interpreting AR aging reports Experience supporting annual audits and working directly with external auditors preferred Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to manage confidential financial information professionally Strong communication and time management skills Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, FQHC, or grant-funded environments preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate Position Details Part-time position Flexible scheduling available One day a week onsite with some hours hybrid beyond that single day Compensation based on experience Our organization is growing rapidly, and we are looking for someone who can bring strong financial organization, reliability, and ownership to our accounting processes while helping support our long-term operational stability and mission.
