Robert Half is partnering with a growing Birmingham-based organization to identify an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a fully remote opportunity offering flexibility and work-life balance, but candidates must live within commuting distance of Birmingham to handle occasional check runs, bank deposits, and mail pickups in Irondale. Office space is available if desired.
The company is seeking an experienced professional who can take ownership of the full accounts payable process, think critically, identify opportunities for improvement, and serve as a key contributor within a collaborative accounting team.
What You'll DoManage the full accounts payable cycle for multiple entities operating within a shared general ledger environmentOnboard vendors and maintain vendor recordsReview, code, and process a high volume of invoicesManage purchase orders and purchasing activities within the AP systemProcess weekly payments, including checks and electronic paymentsSupport month-end close activities, including expense accrualsPrepare and manage annual 1099 reportingAnalyze expenses, investigate unusual transactions, and identify trendsAssist with process improvements and workflow efficiencies within APMake occasional trips to the Irondale office for check runs, bank deposits, and mail retrievalWhy Consider This Opportunity?
