Job Description
Job Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing customer invoices and payments, insurance claim receivables, and account balances for roofing and restoration projects. This role ensures accurate invoicing, timely collections, and proper documentation of payments from homeowners, insurance carriers, and mortgage companies. Key Responsibilities Generate and send invoices for roofing and restoration projects Track payments from homeowners, insurance carriers, and mortgage companies Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances Coordinate with project managers and sales representatives to verify job completion and billing details Manage insurance claim receivables, supplements, and depreciation payments Post payments received via checks, ACH, credit card, and insurance disbursements Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in billing or payments Communicate with customers regarding deductibles, upgrades, and remaining balances Track recoverable depreciation and supplemental claim payments Maintain organized documentation for all invoices, payments, and claim files Assist with monthly financial reporting and closing procedures Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures Required Skills & Qualifications 2+ years experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or construction accounting Experience with insurance claims or roofing/restoration billing preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and collections processes Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online, ServiceTitan, AccuLynx, or similar CRM/accounting systems) Strong Excel skills and data management ability Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills when working with homeowners and insurance companies Preferred Qualifications Experience in roofing, restoration, or construction industry billing Familiarity with Xactimate or insurance claim documentation Knowledge of recoverable depreciation and supplemental claim processes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) Percentage of collected deductibles Insurance depreciation collected Invoice accuracy rate Aging of outstanding receivables Work Environment Office-based role with frequent coordination between sales, production, and accounting teams Regular communication with homeowners, insurance carriers, and mortgage companies
