Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven AR Collections Specialist to join our billing department. This position will be responsible for managing incoming payments by resolving customer billing issues, contacting clients with overdue invoices, negotiating repayment plans and facilitating the resolution of customer disputes and working the aging insurance and patient reports. The ideal candidate balances firm collection tactics with excellent customer service to ensure timely payment.
Primary Duties:
Daily Collections:
Contact customers with overdue accounts via phone and email to secure payment and prevent accounts from becoming severely delinquent.
Dispute Resolution:
Investigate billing discrepancies, missing payments, insurance denials and customer complaints to provide prompt solutions.
Payment Processing & Account Reconciliation:
Process incoming payments, reconcile customer accounts, and adjust any billing errors.
Negotiation:
Establish mutually agreeable payment schedules for clients facing financial difficulties while adhering to company credit policies.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, real-time notes of all collection efforts and customer communications within the company CRM or ERP software.
Reporting:
Generate aging reports and provide updates to management regarding cash flow projections and at-risk accounts.
Essential Qualifications:
Experience with billing software (RCM) and a good understanding of Microsoft office programs like Outlook and Word. Exceptional negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to handle difficult conversations with tact, professionalism, and empathy. Familiarity with standard billing procedures and basic understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Meticulous accuracy is needed to avoid errors in billing and record keeping Ability to multitask Familiarity with medical terminology is highly beneficial Understanding EOB's and Remittance codes is highly beneficial Self-motivation, accountability and being a team player is a must for success in this role.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, associate degree in health administration or medical billing preferred.

$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
