Job Description

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant Manager to join our Accounting team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable department while supporting the accurate and timely collection of customer payments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This position serves as a key resource for both customers and team members and acts on behalf of the department manager when needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reconcile customer accounts and perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies, payment issues, and overdue balances. Research and resolve account reconciliation variances and billing concerns. Assist the Accounts Receivable Manager in overseeing daily department operations and workflow management. Handle escalated customer inquiries, disputes, and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Assist with the training, development, coaching, and leadership of Accounts Receivable team members. Monitor employee attendance and timekeeping records for accuracy. Participate in employee interviews, hiring, onboarding, and training activities. Serve as Manager on Duty during the manager's absence, ensuring continuity of department operations. Review and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to accounts receivable activities. Collaborate with customers, sales personnel, and internal departments to resolve account issues and improve collection efforts. Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting requirements. Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and customer service within the department. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of accounts receivable, accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience preferred. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles, accounts receivable processes, and financial concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills preferred. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong customer service skills and ability to build positive working relationships. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
