GED Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Accounting Analyst/Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company through account reconciliations, accounts payable and/or receivable support, documentation management, and general administrative accounting functions. This position assists with maintaining accurate financial records, organizing supporting documentation, and ensuring transactions are processed timely and accurately within the company's ERP system. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures and instructions. Responsibilities include assisting with balance sheet reconciliations, researching discrepancies, maintaining accounting files and schedules, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with various accounting and compliance-related tasks as assigned. The Accounting Analyst works closely with the accounting team to support operational efficiency, maintain accurate records, and ensure accounting processes are completed in accordance with company policies and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Reconciliation Support Assist with monthly balance sheet account reconciliations Research and resolve basic accounting discrepancies Maintain organized reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation Assist with bank reconciliations and transaction matching Support month-end and year-end close activities Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Support Assist with processing vendor invoices and customer payments as needed Reviewing and processing monthly employee expense reports Support vendor statement reviews Assist with incoming customer payments as needed Assist with filing sales tax and compliance paperwork as needed Administrative & Documentation Duties Organize accounting records, electronic files, and supporting documents Maintain accurate and complete accounting paperwork Assist with audit preparation and requests from external auditors Follow internal procedures and maintain documentation standards Assist with special projects and general accounting tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Preferred Experience 1-3 years of office, administrative, AP, AR or accounting support experience preferred Basic understanding of accounting principles is helpful but not required Experience working in an ERP system is a plus Experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook preferred Skills & Abilities Organized with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Ability to follow instructions and established procedures Self-motivated, reliable, dependable, and eager to learn and grow Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reports and data entry Education High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's degree or coursework in accounting, business, or finance is a plus, but not required
