Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the organization's financial operations by managing data entry, account reconciliation, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in corporate and governmental accounting within a fast-paced environment that values precision, integrity, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage . Reconcile accounts on the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Assist with audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions. Manage invoice processing, expense tracking, and vendor payments while adhering to internal controls and SOX compliance standards. Support budgeting processes, financial reporting, and non-profit accounting activities as needed. Experience This role is open to students or candidates beginning an accounting career Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar platforms is beneficial but not required. Role requires hands-on experience with account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques. Excellent math skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis. Ability to work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in all tasks. $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
