(Of the Accounting Specialist) Ciera Bank has been serving Texas Communities since 1890 and we now have 8 locations. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for processing accounts payable, handling payroll for multiple pay cycles, and managing key accounting tasks. The Accounting Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of the company's financial operations. Works under general supervision and in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(of the Accounting Specialist)
Functional Payroll Specialist:
Process payroll for bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and director payroll cycles. Prepare and complete monthly payroll reconciliations. Export 401k files for timely processing. Oversee year-end W2 and 1099 processing
Accounts Payable:
Manage the entire accounts payable process, including invoice processing, verifying payment requests, and ensuring timely payments. Printing and mailing vendor checks Handle year-end 1099 processing to ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements. Process monthly Fixed Assets and Prepaids Manage accounts payable for the holding company, including processing invoices and payments. Perform monthly bank reconciliations for the holding company's checking account. Assist with other accounting tasks as needed, contributing to the month-end close process and providing support for audits.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
(of the Accounting Specialist) Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and payroll processing. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Advanced PC skills including word processing (WORD), and spreadsheet (Excel). Working knowledge of standard office equipment and general office procedures. Demonstrates ability to read and understand financial data.
WORKING CONDITIONS

- Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
(of the Accounting Specialist) Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds such as files, documents, and computer printouts. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate the computer keyboard at an advanced skill level. Position includes extensive reading (50% or more of work time spent reading) and extensive computer usage (50% or more of work time viewing computer monitor) as well as close or highly concentrated visual work. Receive detailed information through verbal communication both in person and by telephone.
