Position Summary The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting needs of a diverse client base. This role manages core bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting, sales tax filings, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality work. Working closely with clients and the firm's tax professionals, this individual plays an important role in ensuring financial information is accurate, organized, and prepared to support both business decisions and tax compliance. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Accounting Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation Process payroll and prepare related payroll tax filings Prepare and file sales and use tax returns Prepare and distribute annual 1099 forms and related filings Financial Reporting Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements Investigate and resolve discrepancies and account variances Maintain accurate financial records and supporting schedules Month-End & Tax Preparation Support Complete monthly and quarterly closing procedures Prepare adjusting journal entries and year-end workpapers Assist with budget preparation and financial planning activities Ensure client financial records are accurate, complete, and tax-ready Client Service & Team Support Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax matters Collaborate with tax professionals to support accurate and timely tax preparation Assist with bookkeeping cleanup projects and process improvements Other bookkeeping and accounting duties as assigned Qualifications Required 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles Experience with payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, ADP, or similar platforms. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience in a public accounting or professional services environment Experience with payroll tax filings, sales tax returns, and 1099 reporting Strong client service and communication skills

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
