UTILITY CLERK

The City of Lampasas is currently accepting applications for the position of Utility Clerk (Full-time). Summary of Position Receives citizens' utility payments; processes service applications and work orders; receives payments for various city goods and services; and assists customers in person and over the telephone. Starting salary is $15.631/hour, DOQ, plus excellent benefits.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of :

generally accepted accounting practices; utility billing procedures; and standard office practices and procedures.

Skill/Ability to:

operate a computer proficiently, using word processing and spreadsheet software; compose letters and reports; perform basic mathematical calculations; analyze data; balance accounts, reconcile statements, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public. Acceptable Experience and Training o Requires high school diploma, plus at least two years of customer service and cash handling experience; o or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
