The Temporary Bookkeeper will provide accounting and financial operations support by maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Bill.com, and related financial systems. This position will assist with data entry, account reconciliations, expense processing, and system integration efforts to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Responsibilities Accounting and Data Entry • Enter and maintain financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). • Review, categorize, and code transactions accurately within QBO. • Reclassify transactions and accounts as directed to improve financial reporting accuracy. • Maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions. Accounts Payable and Expense Processing • Process expense reports through Sage Expense Reporting and other designated systems. • Review submitted expenses for completeness, coding accuracy, and policy compliance. • Process check requests and prepare supporting documentation for approval. • Enter and manage vendor invoices through Bill.com. • Assist with accounts payable workflow and payment processing. Reconciliations and Account Maintenance • Reconcile corporate credit card accounts and ensure transactions are properly categorized. • Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies. • Review and categorize bank feed transactions in QuickBooks Online. • Assist with month-end account reconciliations and cleanup projects. Systems Integration and Process Improvement • Assist with integration efforts between QuickBooks Online and Sage Expense Reporting. • Identify and resolve data mapping and synchronization issues between systems. • Support accounting process improvements and documentation initiatives. • Work with finance staff to ensure consistent accounting procedures are followed. Other Duties • Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information. • Assist with special accounting projects as assigned. • Perform other bookkeeping and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Education & Experience • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience. • Nonprofit or church accounting experience is a plus Skills & Competencies • Experience with QuickBooks Online required. • Experience with Bill.com preferred. • Experience with Sage Expense Reporting or similar expense management software preferred. • Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting principles. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
