Assistant Professor of Accounting

Apply Apply Description Position Overview Wiley invites applications for a full-time faculty position supporting our undergraduate accounting programs and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Accounting. We seek a dedicated scholar-educator passionate about delivering high-quality instruction in accounting and preparing students for successful careers in the profession.   • Teach undergraduate courses in accounting, which may include Principles of Accounting I & II, Intermediate Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Auditing, and/or Taxation
  • Integrate real-world applications, current accounting standards, and professional practices into course instruction
  • Provide academic mentoring and professional guidance to support student preparation for careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, government, or nonprofit sectors
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment practices, and continuous program improvement aligned with professional accreditation standards
  • Actively participate in departmental, college, and university service activities
  • Engage in ongoing scholarship, professional development, and service to maintain currency with evolving accounting standards, regulations, and technology
  • Report to the Department Chair or designated administrator and contribute to departmental goals Qualifications Required Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration with accounting concentration, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution Demonstrated ability or strong potential to deliver effective, student-centered instruction in accounting principles and applications Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and current accounting practices Excellent communication skills and commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment Willingness to engage collaboratively in curriculum review and departmental initiatives Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree (Ph.
D. or DBA) in Accounting or related discipline Active CPA licensure or other relevant professional certification (CMA, CIA, etc.) Previous college or university teaching experience, particularly at the undergraduate level Professional accounting experience in public accounting, industry, government, or nonprofit sectors Familiarity with accounting software and technology used in professional practice Record of scholarly activity, professional engagement, or continuing professional education Ability to advise students on CPA exam preparation and career pathways Application Requirements Complete applications must include: Cover letter addressing qualifications, teaching philosophy, and scholarly agenda Current curriculum vitae Unofficial transcript(s) for all graduate degrees (official transcripts required upon hire) Contact information for three professional references
