Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring the integrity of our accounting processes. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by handling a variety of bookkeeping tasks with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Prepare and record journal entries accurately, ensuring proper debits and credits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and ledger records. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to verify the accuracy of financial data. Assist with payroll processing, including tax calculations and compliance with governmental regulations. Support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management review. Ensure compliance with both corporate and non-profit accounting standards, including governmental accounting where applicable. Prepare detailed financial reports and summaries to facilitate informed decision-making by leadership. Handle tax-related tasks such as preparing documentation for audits or filings, leveraging tax experience when necessary. Skills Proficiency in popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation. Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices as applicable. Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing. Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation accurately while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with financial report writing and budget analysis to support organizational planning. Excellent technical skills in financial software applications along with 10-key typing proficiency for data entry accuracy. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines. Clear understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger accounting principles.
