Job Description
Payroll & Accounting Specialist Key Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and on schedule for employees across multiple locations Review time records, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, and payroll adjustments Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations Administer garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related transactions Reconcile payroll reports and support audit requests Coordinate employee payroll changes with internal stakeholders Prepare and file indirect tax returns and ensure timely compliance with filing requirements Reconcile tax-related accounts and investigate discrepancies Respond to tax notices and maintain supporting documentation Perform general ledger reconciliations and account analysis Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities Research and resolve accounting variances Support internal and external audits Maintain accurate financial records and adhere to internal controls Qualifications 3+ years of payroll, accounting, or related financial experience Experience with multi-state payroll processing and tax filings preferred Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and accounting practices Experience with payroll and accounting software systems Strong Excel and financial reporting skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality Preferred Professional payroll certification or related credentials Experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments Familiarity with tax automation or compliance software INDPIT
