Bookkeeping & QuickBooks Specialist Spice of life Catering/ The Veranda San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time $24 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Paid training Qualifications Associate's degree in accounting Finance High school diploma or GED Attention to detail QuickBooks Restaurant experience Accounting Full Job Description Job Summary Spice of Life Catering and the Veranda are seeking a full time , detailed oriented Bookkeeper Specialist to manage the daily financial operations and to ensure accurate bookkeeping. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulous tracking of event deposits, client invoicing, vendor and staffing payables, as well as working closely with ownership, sales and operations to ensure timely and organized financial management. The ideal candidate maintains the general ledger, enabling management to make informed, real-time business decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks, accounting skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling financial information. Key Responsibilities Process client payments, deposits, and invoices Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances Enter and maintain financial transactions in QuickBooks Reconcile credit card transactions and expense receipts Assist with monthly financial reporting and document prep for the company's CPA Support contract administration and vendor documentation Manage payroll and employee expense reimbursements Maintain the general ledger and reports using QuickBooks Process and track bills from food suppliers, beverage vendors, and linen or decor services. Prepare outgoing payments ensuring all vendor terms are met on schedule. Manage 1099 tracking for contract event staff Provide administrative support to management as needed Qualifications & Skills High School diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred Knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll processing Familiarity with payroll software and sales tax fillings Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience in the hospitality, restaurant, catering, or event management sectors is heavily preferred. Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and internal staff. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Bilingual in English and Spanish but not preferred.
