Job Description

Position Details Position Title Student Assistant for Accounts Payable Academic Year 2026-2027 UIW Mission University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good. Position Summary The Student Assistant for Accounts Payable will help support the Accounts Payable Office by performing clerical duties and other duties assigned. The Student Assistant for Accounts Payable reports to Senior Accounts Payable Technician.
Essential Functions Essential functions include:
Open, review and sort incoming mail. Release checks to departments, obtaining appropriate signatures. Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: scanning, faxing, photocopying, mailing, and filing. Scan and index documents into the Banner System. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Self-motivated. Ability to file alphabetically and proficient in spelling. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to use basic office equipment, copy machine, computer, answer phones. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA . Required Education Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program. Required Work Experience None. Preferred Qualifications Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge in Excel. Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations None. Work Hours Office hours are Monday -Friday 8am-5pm. Schedule will be in this time frame of office hours. Ability to work in increments of at least 4 hours or more preferred. Physical Demands Ability to lift boxes of approximately 25 lbs.
