Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant Position Summary Newman Construction is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant to support our accounting department. This position is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of company obligations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Process, review, and verify vendor invoices and payment requests. Reconcile monthly vendor statements, account balances, and accounting records. Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation. Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies. Support accounting, clerical, and administrative functions within the finance department. Maintain confidentiality of company, employee, vendor, and financial information. Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Verify invoices against packing slips and organize supporting documentation for filing. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous accounts payable or administrative experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with ComputerEase software is preferred but not required. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Preferred Skills Accounts payable experience. Construction industry experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
