Full Job Description Job Description:
The Commissions Specialist is responsible for paying all types of real estate commissions including General Brokerage, Rentals and Miscellaneous Income to our Agents. This is a Monday through Friday in-office position with hours between 8am and 5pm.
MUST HAVE
experience in commissions payments. General Office Responsibilities- This position reports directly to the Commission Supervisor
  • Attend all Company offered administrative trainings
  • Assist the Accounting department with implementing new Company procedures
  • Communicate with the department Manager about any days/times you will be out of the office.
  • Support the Accounting departments as needed (adjusted)
  • Responsible for paying and adjusting real estate commission payments to Agents
  • Communicate with the Agents to ensure they are paid correctly
  • Process and track all Agent splits
  • Process and pay all Miscellaneous Income Promote the use of Company resources, tools, and staff trainers to help the agents including Cardinal Title Group and First Heritage Mortgage
  • Communicate with outside Title companies regarding commissions adjustments
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions to address issues; providing recommendations as needed
  • Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to more junior member/s of the team. Help agents get connected with the right department or person when they have questions or needs in a courteous and kind manner Job Specific Responsibilities
  • Match funds received against the settlement statement and commission disbursement statement for each property to ensure correct funds are received.
  • Verify receipt of funds and reconcile to any balance owed to the company by the agent.
  • Pay recruiting bonuses
  • Ensure agents' licenses and/or business entities are in good standing.
  • Process commission payment by ACH or hard check depending on agents' instructions.
  • Process the transaction as required to the correct applicable accounts
  • Speed and accuracy are key - detail oriented and organized is necessary
  • General understanding of how to read agreements/contracts and ALTAS
  • Verify agents for accounting prior to paying
  • Set up recruiting and mentoring program Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
  • Skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with other financial systems.
  • Real Estate Experience Preferred but not required
  • Able to read/understand contracts/agreements etc.
