Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a growing organization in Chesapeake, Virginia on a Contract basis. This position focuses on processing business and alcohol license payments for locations nationwide while maintaining accurate records in a high-volume environment. The ideal candidate brings strong numeric data entry skills, a careful approach to documentation, and prior exposure to accounting-related tasks.
Responsibilities:
  • Enter and update business and alcohol license information with a high degree of accuracy across multiple locations.
  • Process payments related to licensing activities and ensure transactions are recorded correctly and on time.
  • Review submitted information for completeness, identify discrepancies, and resolve routine issues before final processing.
  • Maintain organized records of licensing documentation, payment activity, and supporting files for audit readiness.
  • Handle a steady workload efficiently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced administrative environment.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external contacts as needed to confirm license details and payment status.
  • Support accounting-related administrative tasks, including basic reconciliation and record verification when required.
