Job Description
The City of Franklin's Department of Human Resources is serving as the advertising agent for this vacancy. Screening and selection will be handled by the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue .
Summary Objective:
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support in the preparation and/or maintenance of fiscal or related records. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.Salary Range:
$35,778 to $44,729, depending on experience and qualifications.Essential Functions:
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.- Enters data for collections and accounting for tax collections of all types of taxes
- Files various assessment documents.
- Searches documents for posting errors.
- Collates, sorts and complies assessment data and DMV reports in accordance with procedures.
- Responsible for printing personal property books yearly and supplements.
- Assists the public with inquiries related to agency services.
- Provides assistance to attorney's/title companies seeking tax related information.
- Performs miscellaneous clerical work.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Handle citizen inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a calm and professional manner while using active listening and problem-solving techniques
- Maintaining confidentiality in accordance with Virginia State Code
- Collaborate with external agencies to verify and maintain accurate records to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems
- Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, ensuring efficient workflow while meeting citizen needs
- Utilize strong communication skills to convey information clearly and build productive relationships with citizens and partner agencies
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School graduation or GED equivalent. Some bookkeeping or office experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office softwarePhysical Demands:

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
