03/30/2026 POSITION SUMMARY The Elementary Bookkeeper is responsible for all financial transactions at 4 elementary schools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains student activity accounts' by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions Dual reports to the Finance Department and school principals Monitors operating and grant accounts' budgets and expenditures Reconciles monthly purchase card statement Reconciles monthly bank statements Retain supporting documentation for all financial transactions, in an organized manner Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner Record cash receipts and make bank deposits Reconcile all student activity accounts to the general ledger monthly Issue and review monthly financial statements with the principals and sponsors Keep principals aware of all all spending and any issues that may arise Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit Maintain the chart of accounts in the school preferred accounting system (EPES) Maintain expenditures within the annual budget limit Ensures all school spending complies with school, local, state, and federal government laws, policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates's degree in accounting or business administration preferred or the equivalent of years in accounting experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principals required. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The Elementary Bookkeeper is required to travel between 3 locations to perform the duties required of this position. Reliable transportation is required. Reimbursement for mileage is paid based on IRS standard mileage rates and paid monthly.
