Job Description

Company Description Dominion Terminal Associates is a world-class coal export company in business since 1984 based in Newport News, VA. The organization provides its team with a collaborative and professional work environment conducive to career growth. Role Description Calculates employee time worked, vacation, bonus and any other pay, as well as deductions from pay. Prepares all employee deductions for each payroll including for taxes, benefits, and others. Posts all employee time, including hours worked and special pay, as well as deduction to the payroll system. Implements company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures. Records tardiness or unauthorized personal time. Records PTO time on payroll records. Processes benefit enrollment and changes with carriers and through payroll system. Reconciles employees covered by various benefit plans such as medical, dental and supplemental life insurance, on current bills with current payroll deductions and general ledger postings. Prepares various labor and time reports for management purposes. Records all accounts receivable invoices in the accounting system, follows up with customers on collections, post receipts of payments from customers and reconciles accounts receivable monthly. Deposits cash receipts regularly. Reconciles company bank accounts and outstanding checks monthly. Maintains certificates of insurance records from company vendors and prepare internal reports to management. Various other accounting related tasks as needed. Reports to the Director of Finance & Accounting. Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or 4 years' experience in a similar role
