To Apply for this Job Click Here Accounting Analyst - Virginia Beach, VA Overview Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client on their search for an Accounting Analyst to join their team. This role is responsible for performing complex accounting analyses, supporting budgeting and regulatory reporting, and assisting with financial operations in a highly computerized environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in financial reporting, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and interpret regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Complete complex accounting analyses requiring independent application of accounting theory. Prepare and analyze estimated contractual adjustments, charity, and bad debt reserves. Prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports and settlements. Support the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets. Prepare Federal, State, and Local tax returns. Complete regulatory reporting and cost analyses in compliance with applicable requirements. Interpret and communicate federal and state regulations. Assess accounting functions and recommend process improvements. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to leadership. Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, taxing authorities, consultants, auditors, and internal leadership. Maintain financial reporting accuracy and ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies. Support cost analysis and budget planning initiatives. Assist with audit preparation and regulatory reporting requirements. Evaluate accounting processes and implement operational improvements where appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, or Finance/Business with an Accounting concentration. Minimum 1+ year of accounting experience, including financial analysis, budgeting, and reconciliations. Experience with financial statements, variance analysis, and financial reporting required. Healthcare accounting or finance experience preferred, including exposure to Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting. CPA or progress toward certification preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis. Experience working in highly computerized financial and ERP environments preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and collaborate cross-functionally.
