Job Description
This position will be responsible for all general accounting functions including preparing journal entries, financial reporting, and account reconciliations for Highlands Bankshares, Inc. and HBI Life Insurance Company. Will prepare Annual Report, Federal Reserve Call Reports and quarterly holding company adjusting and holding company eliminating entries and assist with year-end closing. Will be responsible coordinating internal and external audit processes. Must assist tax accountant with tax computations and supply tax schedules when requested. Must prepare and file all required Federal Reserve, WV Division of Banking, WV Secretary of State, and any other required reports required on behalf of the holding company and other duties as assigned by board, audit committee, Holding Company President or bank CEO. Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred - or equivalent Knowledge of accounting principles and practices Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation Attention to detail and accuracy Communication skills Problem analysis and problem-solving skills Initiative Team work Confidentiality is a
