The Role:
Full Charge Bookkeeping The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for owning the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of small business clients—from day-to-day transaction management to month-end close and financial reporting. This role ensures books are accurate, complete, and defensible, while supporting compliance and delivering clean, reliable financials clients can actually use to run their business. This is a client-facing role. You will communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person to gather missing information, explain discrepancies, and keep work moving. We're looking for someone who can take ownership quickly, think critically, and manage multiple clients with minimal hand-holding—someone who doesn't just keep up, but keeps things moving forward. Pay :
$52,000 - $60,000/year starting depending on experience Target start date: June 1, 2026 Key Responsibilities Own the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of small business clients. Maintain accurate data entry and complete bookkeeping records across all client accounts. Reconcile all bank, credit card, and loan accounts, ensuring balances tie out and discrepancies are resolved. Ensure all transactions are supported with clear, organized, and audit-ready documentation. Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements with supporting workpapers. Manage month-end and year-end close across multiple clients with consistent deadlines. Prepare and post adjusting journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. Interpret sales reports and reconcile revenue across POS systems, merchant processors, and bank deposits. Identify, investigate, and resolve cash and account discrepancies in a timely manner. Reconcile sales, merchant accounts, and sales tax with clear and defensible documentation. Prepare and file state B&O and sales tax returns with supporting workpapers. Process payroll and ensure payroll tax deposits and filings are accurate and timely. Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready client files and documentation standards. Communicate directly with clients to gather missing information, clarify questions, and keep work moving. Identify issues or inconsistencies and take initiative to resolve them or escalate when needed. Support tax preparation by providing accurate, complete financials and required documentation. Manage multiple client accounts while prioritizing deadlines and maintaining consistency. Ideal Candidate Profile Required 2-5 years of full charge bookkeeping, preferably in a public accounting environment. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle, including reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail. Experience interpreting sales reports and tying revenue to cash (POS systems, merchant processors, etc.). Experience supporting B&O and sales tax work (filings, documentation, or review). Comfortable managing 8-20+ active client accounts (or equivalent workload) with recurring deadlines and frequent context switching Confident in a client-facing environment (warm, steady, professional—especially on the phone). High integrity and confidentiality with sensitive financial information. Understanding of general ledger activity and journal entries. Nice to Have Payroll experience (or willingness to learn quickly with support).
