Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under close supervision: 1. Perform a variety of transactional tasks in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, tax, treasury, or general accounting. 2. May include basic responsibilities for one or more or the following:
- Accounts payable, including proper coding of invoices, invoice entry, check run preparation, and ensuring timely payment of vendors.
- Accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash receipts, past due follow-up, and customer credit.
- Sales tax functions, including sales tax return filings, sales tax recovery, and managing sales tax exemptions.
- Treasury functions, including expense management support, bank account platforms, corporate credit card portals, and cash reporting.
- Payroll functions, including entering leave and time adjustments, preparation of payroll reports, reconciliations, and distribution of checks and direct deposit notifications.
3. Provide courteous, timely and accurate customer support to internal and external customers. 4. Perform reconciliations, research, and resolve discrepancies as directed. 5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. 6. Understand. Create. Simplify. 7. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school education. Basic experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, and operation of 10-key touch calculator. Detail orientated. Ability to maintain organized and accurate records. Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills. Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Background check results satisfactory to SEL. Negative drug test result(s).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with computer-based accounting systems. Some college or one-year certificate in accounting or related field. Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, tax, treasury, banking, or general accounting.
