In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial activities. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial records, support budgeting and financial analysis, and streamline payroll and accounts payable processes. Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records. Conduct data entry with precision using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping methods to uphold data integrity. Support payroll management using systems like Paychex; verify payroll data and process payroll runs accurately. Assist with compliance requirements related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards. Prepare detailed account analysis, assist with budgeting activities, and perform tax-related tasks in accordance with governmental accounting standards. Contribute to internal audits by providing documentation on financial transactions and supporting audit procedures. Experience Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with familiarity in public accounting practices preferred. Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Knowledge of payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex along with experience in payroll processing is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and data entry with high accuracy. Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and tax regulations relevant to non-profit or corporate settings is a plus. Excellent mathematical skills combined with strong attention to detail; ability to analyze financial data effectively.
