Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial record-keeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports. Duties Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded. Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, payment processing, and vendor management. Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manage payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with governmental accounting standards. Assist with budgeting activities and provide support for financial report writing to aid decision-making. Conduct account reconciliation tasks, including debits & credits verification and general ledger reconciliation, to maintain financial integrity. Qualifications Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping. Prior experience in non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus. Knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes, payroll systems, and tax regulations related to finance operations. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately under tight deadlines. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
