Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting functions for multiple properties. This office-based position is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, grant and Section 8 reporting, reconciliations, and accurate financial data entry using QuickBooks Desktop . The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with property-related accounting, and the ability to manage intercompany transactions across multiple entities. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) for multiple properties, including vendor invoices, approvals, and timely payments
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R) for multiple properties, including tenant charges and collections
  • Process and track Section 8 HAP (Housing Assistance Payment) receipts and reconciliations
  • Perform tenant charge processing , including move-ins, move-outs, and final account reconciliations
  • Allocate transactions to appropriate accounts and QuickBooks classes
  • Complete charge card and credit card reconciliations, assist with biweekly payroll processing
  • Prepare and maintain accurate grant reporting and supporting documentation
  • Handle intercompany billing and reconciliations between related entities and insurance claims
  • Perform high-volume, accurate data entry into QuickBooks Desktop
  • Maintain organized financial filing systems (both physical and electronic)
  • Assist with month-end closing tasks and respond to audit or management inquiries as needed Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience using QuickBooks Desktop (required)
  • Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably supporting multiple properties or entities
  • Working knowledge of A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
  • Experience with Section 8 or subsidized housing payments preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with grant accounting and reporting preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 a plus Work Environment
  • Office-based position only
  • Regular interaction with property management staff, vendors, and housing program administrators
Pay:
$46,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
